Children's Church has a new room!
Children's church is a happening place. Due to the amount of children attending it became apparent they needed a bigger space to meet in. Praise God! After knocking down a wall and a bit of construction, the new children's church room was ready to hold their first service. It was a great day! See the pictures of the ribbon cutting in the slideshow to the left.
Also pictured is Easter Sunday service with the children. Teddy and Shauney recruited some teens to put on a play sharing the story of the death and resurrection of Jesus. Great things are happening in Childrens Church and we invite you to take part. Teddy and Shauney are always needing a volunteer or two to help out. They also appreciate your prayers. Children's Church is held every Sunday morning after the song service except the first Sunday of the month. Read more about their previous adventures below. |

Third Stop: China
Travel Notes from Teddy:
Day 1: Hello/ Nihao (NEE how). Greetings from your young missionaries in China, I hope this letter finds you well back in the states, to God be the glory! No matter what you have read in the papers or heard on the news, we are fine. We were thrown in prison, not for doing anything wrong, but for trying to share the gospel with the people of China. In the Bible we read about Paul in the prison in Rome and Paul and Silas in the Philippians prison and how they sang praises to the Lord while waiting for their release. I know that God can deliver us through anything that comes against us. So do not let the persecutor get you down, instead my brother, pray for them. Do not tell God how big your problem is, but tell your problems how big our God is! Once again, to God is the glory for delivering us out of the hands of the enemy. Continue to pray….. not only for us, but for the people of China and other nations around the world that they will come to know our mighty God. Your Servants in Christ. Day 2: In Children's Church we were back in China, and we celebrated birthdays in China. I shared with the kids that on my trip to Ecuador I got the chance to celebrate New Years there the way they did(the burning of the old man) and in Micronesia Terrell got to celebrate his birthday there. so we celebrated birthdays past and to come in China with cake and Ice Cream and also made a craft for to give out Next week, but I can't say too much they may figure out who it is for. |
Travel Notes from Teddy...
Sunday, September 16th -- Had an amazing service in Japan today! We had all the kids outside in a circle, and Torey and I came out dressed as sumo wrestlers.(Japan sport of champions) We erupted the volcano that was made last week, explaining to the kids that we are sometimes like a volcano that we let our feelings and emotions get the best of us and lash out at the ones we love. When we say hateful things that we cant take back. But the Bible tells us not to let the sun set on our anger. We must be quick to seek forgiveness of others. We shared that our sins are like volcano and the more we sin the bigger they seem to get until they get out of control. If we let them get out of control they destroy everything that we have worked for. The lesson was really brought home by sharing that God is merciful and just and He is the only way to calm the raging volcano inside us. We also eat some eel! Okay, it wasn't eel, it was jello made in freezer pop tubes to look like it! Surprisingly, most of the kids were excited to try it even before they found out it was jello. One more week in Japan, and then we're off to our next stop. stay tuned....

First Stop - South Korea
During our first stop we learned that it is customary to remove your shoes before entering a home (yes we went shoeless in Children's Church). We learned that when you greet someone you should bow. We got to try some new food. Our little missionaries trying rice noodles and chicken with chop sticks.
Our goal this lesson was to help kids realize that God has plans for them, regardless of their limitations. Our focus was Korea Nazarene University emphasizes ministry to students with special needs. Our scripture was: "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity" 1Timothy 4:12. Two of our kids went through Sunday school and church with bandages on their eyes to see what it was like to have visual limitations. Travel Notes from Teddy: South Korea was an exciting adventure! Jet leg has not set in on us yet. It is a blessing to see the kids excited to learn and try new things.(now if it will only rub off the some of the older generation). Looking forward to our stop in Japan, I think that we will have to see if we can get tickets to an Sumo wrestling match! Stay tuned for those pictures! |
